Wednesday 24th August – bike **** – Around Felixstowe including lunch near Levington Church– sunny and hot :(

Another hot sunny day here in Felixstowe, exercises in the back garden while checking the wind strength but it looked marginal so I made some yummy egg sandwiches and despite the heat we set off on our bikes for Levington. Being late setting off today, we did not leave home until one we went the quickest way, straight through the two Trimleys leading to the bike path along side the A 14, with a dock strike:( it was fairly quiet and with a tail wind we whizzed along! Then through Levington village with sunflowers on loads of houses making Ukraine National Day to the lovely church and onto our bench looking down over the Rive Orwell below us with a good breeze blowing up the hill, it had definitely picked up! Too hot for any deer in the field below we quickly got a tube of blackberries before tucking into our lovely sandwiches and enjoying the view! Our peace was then broken by someone strimming the reed bed below which spoked a mother deer with a fawn which did a circuit of the field below, she was barking like a dog, lovey to see the youngster, they soon found cover again but two more deer were frightened out up the field the other side! Well rested we to continued down to Levington creek, along the Orwell to Levington Marina where we bumped into fellow foiler Jamie for a quick chat. Around Loompit lake full of geese and swans leading to the cooler tree lined path and home for a welcome cuppa and cake. The temperature is set to drop tomorrow as it is way too hot today with hopefully some proper rain too:) No wind for a few days which is good as we have the Grandson visiting at the weekend then we might have another run of east to North east winds coming:)
